Summerfest may be canceled this year, but the Big Gig is still hard at work as the world's largest music festival provided an update today on some of its former 2020 headliners – good news for some, bad news for Sam Hunt fans.
Summerfest announced today that three additional 2020 main stage acts – Luke Bryan, Blink-182 and Khalid – will all return for next year's festival. Khalid will now hit the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on June 24, 2021, with Luke Bryan headlining the next night on June 25, 2021 and Blink-182 performing on July 2, 2021.
CONCERT UPDATES: We're doing everything possible to reschedule @amfam Amphitheater headliners for late June/early July 2021.

The three acts join several other previously announced Summerfest headliners shifting their main stage gigs to next year, including Halsey, Chris Stapleton and Dave Matthews Band.
Unfortunately, not all of the news is good news – particularly for Sam Hunt fans, as the Big Gig confirmed today that the country star's Summerfest headlining act has been canceled, with no current plans to reschedule for 2021. Hunt originally signed up to return for the rescheduled September edition when Summerfest moved from its original mid-summer plans to three weekends throughout September; however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Summerfest canceled its plans for an in-person festival this year and therefore Hunt's show in the process.
Those who've already purchased tickets for rescheduled shows are asked to hold on to their original tickets, as they will be honored for the new 2021 Big Gig concert dates. (The same goes for general Summerfest admission tickets, as 2020 tickets will be valid for next year.) Those looking for a refund for Khalid, Luke Bryan or Blink-182 instead have 30 days from today's announcement to do so from the original point of purchase. As for the canceled Sam Hunt show, refunds will also be available at the original point of purchase – including the Summerfest box office office, which is currently open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Refunds on Summerfest general admission tickets purchased via Summerfest.com or Ticketmaster are also available; however, they must be initiated by July 17, 2020.
Future plans for Justin Bieber and Guns N' Roses, both previously announced as headliners for 2020, have year to be determined – so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates. And enjoy thinking about next year, which we imagine has to be better than 2020. It can't be worse ... right?
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
