We're officially less than five months away from the Big Gig's big return – and to help make that feel even closer, here's a grounds stage headliner announcement: Indie mood rockers Mt. Joy will take the BMO Pavilion stage on the Fourth of July for Summerfest.
The "Silver Lining" and "Astrovan" band is no stranger to the Summerfest grounds or even this particular lakefront stage, hitting the BMO Pavilion in fall of 2021 for a show with Trampled By Turtles. Mt. Joy would return in 2022 for the Big Gig itself, playing the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard as well as a bonus acoustic performance at the American Family Insurance House.
Reserved seating tickets for Mt. Joy's Big Gig concert will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at Summerfest's website, Ticketmaster or in person at the Big Gig box office. Free first-come, first-served seating will also be available on the day of the show. For more information, visit Summerfest's website.
As for the rest of the Big Gig lineup, surely more names will join Amp headliners Kane Brown, Motley Crue, Tyler Childers, Keith Urban and AJR in the upcoming weeks and months – so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more announcements and updates as they arrive. Again, it's only five months away! Less than half a year!
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
