There are a lot of things to love about Halloween. In our opinion, the most exciting part of the spooky season is the plethora of haunted attractions in and around Milwaukee. The adrenaline rush one gets from being chased by a creepy clown with a chainsaw is just hard to duplicate.
Are you also someone who loves to be scared? If so, we know where you need to go this month.
The Hill Has Eyes is one of southeastern Wisconsin’s most beloved haunted attractions. Located in Franklin, the Hill takes visitors through not one, not two, but FIVE different realms of terror. The hour-long course allows the Hill plenty of time to employ countless scare tactics. Whether you’re claustrophobic or disgusted by blood and guts, there’s going to be something that gives you the heebie-jeebies.
The Hill Has Eyes has an intricate backstory that adds to the attraction’s freak factor. The rumor is the government needed to hide evidence that a trailer park ever existed in quaint old Franklin. The park residents were isolated at the hill and turned into mutants who crave human flesh. Minute details of the trailer park lore can be found throughout the course, and the actors are really dedicated to maintaining the hillbilly zombie aesthetic.
During the rest of the year, The Hill Has Eyes is part of The Rock Sports Complex. The Rock puts the huge space to full use, including the ski lift. Known as the "scare lift," visitors are chased up the mountain by flesh-eating zombies who desire nothing more than the taste of blood.
Do you think you can handle it?
