For the fifth straight year, Black Husky Brewing will host the TimVitational strongman event at which you can watch brewery co-owner and brewer Tim Eichiger lift ridiculous amounts of weight for a good cause.
The event takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the brewery, 909 E. Locust St.
“Since 2021 we have been doing the TimVitational, a strongman event in the brewery around my birthday,” Eichinger explains. “This year we have added a fundraising component for cystic fibrosis.
“(Co-owner) Toni (Eichinger) and Emily (Sutrick) from Nessun Dorma are doing a 30-mile (Wisconsin Xtreme Hike) for cystic fibrosis and I am raising money for their team, Jabberwalkies.
“I will dead lift three times my body weight – 510 lbs – for reps. I’m looking for pledges for each rep. I’ve done four (reps) in training so I'm expecting somewhere in the six to 10 rep range.”
The event, which is a precursor to the Riverwest brewery’s August strongman competition, will include six competitors in three events: the Mammoth Bar Deadlift, Sandbag Over Bar and the Big Jerk.
Cocina Filipina will be there selling food because watching other people lift insane weights can really work up an appetite.
