For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

I don’t think this is the first time OnMilwaukee.com broached the subject of questionable restaurant names.

Eateries with names like The Rusty Skillet – which was once on 27th Street –  had us wondering for years why someone would want to associate a rusty cooking vessel with food.

We also found the now-defunct Twisted Fork’s name pretty funny, too. I mean, how exactly does one eat with one?

For about the past year, I have snickered every time passing Fluffy Steak & Lemonade, 405 W. Center St. Not only does it seem like a random combination of food items, but I really don’t care for the thought of anything "fluffy" in my food or my drink.

It reminds me of bunnies and fuzz, neither of which are appetizing to me.

I don’t want to blame it solely on the name, but when I finally got to Fluffy for a photograph, it was closed – seemingly for good. I admit, this made me a bit sad because it’s refreshing to see a fast food joint other than McDonald’s or KFC. But Fluffy? (And why just "Fluffy" and not "Fluffy's?")

It could be worse, I guess. According to the Internet, there is a Chinese restaurant in Orange City, Fla., called Gassey Jack’s and one in Rosemead, Calif., called My-Dung.
