Fallen officer Matthew Ritnner's name will soon be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. and to contribute to travel expenses for Rittner's family and cow-workers, Uncle Buck's, 1125 N. Old World 3rd St., will host a fundraiser featuring football, food and more.
The event is Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. in conjunction with the Packers game against the Minnesota Vikings. The admission is $25 and includes a commemorative mug, two beer tickets and a breakfast buffet provided by Usinger's Sausage and Peter Sciorintino's Bakery until 3 p.m. followed by Brick 3 pizzas starting at 4 p.m.
A potion of the bar's proceeds and a 50 / 50 raffle will also raise funds for the cause.
Rittner, who had been on with the police department for 17 years, was shot and killed while on the job in February. Rittner's wife, Caroline, found out she was expecting their second child days after the shooting. The baby, a girl, is due this fall.
