Keeping their winning streak alive, the six-time indoor champion Milwaukee Wave crushed the rival Cedar Rapids Rampage on Sunday afternoon at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, winning 14-3.
"We are extremely happy with this win," said Head Coach Guiliano Oliviero. "We just have to keep working. This is our sixth win in a row, so we want to keep this rolling."
Goalkeeper Josh Lemos dominated in the net with 15 major saves.
"Josh Lemos is a really great keeper," commented Oliviero. "He is great with his feet and helps on offense quite a bit. He was ready to go and everyone in front of him played great. It was a well-rounded team performance."
Midfielder Ian Bennett owned the scoreboard with six goals. Bennett leads the Major Arena Soccer League in points, with 51, and also in goals scored, with 42.
Forwards Robert Renaud and Andre Hayne each scored two goals, while midfielder Hans Denissen and defenders Drew Ruggles, Sean Totsch and Chad Vandergriffe also scored.
Midfielder Max Ferdinand had six assists and leads the team and the league in that category.
The Wave now set their sights on the East Coast, playing the Syracuse Silver Knights on Feb. 3 at 6:35 p.m. at Oncenter War Memorial Arena. Then Milwaukee heads to Baltimore to face-off against the defending champion Baltimore Blast on Feb. 4 at 6:05 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena.
