The Woodland Pattern Poetry Marathon and Benefit, for the first time, will hold the fundraiser for the beloved Riverwest bookshop and its programs at Saint Kate The Arts Hotel, 139 E. Kilbourn Ave.
The Marathon is set for Saturday, Jan. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Also for the first time, the Marathon is a hybrid event, meaning it will include more than 200 poets as well as live music, film screenings, representation of small presses and more.
Performances will take place in Saint Kate’s Arc Theater and will also be livestreamed via Crowdcast. Tickets are on sale now here or can also be purchased at the door.
Lunch and dinner, catered by Saint Kate, will be provided on both days. Vegan and Gluten-free meals are available. Discounted hotel rooms at Saint Kate are also available to those traveling from out of town.
The Poetry Marathon is Woodland Pattern’s largest fundraiser that allows the book center to support many literary and interdisciplinary arts activities, Milwaukee Youth Poet Laureate, Milwaukee Emerging Poet Fellowship programs and more.
