Camp Bar
It's apparent that OnMilwaukee readers love the opportunity to get a taste of the Northwoods without leaving the city.
For the second year running, Camp Bar is the resounding favorite, with its woodsy, Up North cabin vibe and signature old fashioned. No doubt this favorite has become even more beloved as it has expanded its footprint to include locations in Shorewood, Tosa and the Third Ward.
Should be an interesting race next year when Camp's swanky little sister Campsite 131 is in the running!
Interestingly, the remainder of the top five list is comprised of true Milwaukee classics, including Safe House, Milwaukee's original spy-themed bar; Foundation with its tropical tiki vibe (this year's editors' pick); Old German Beer Hall, an homage to Milwaukee's German cultural heritage; and At Random, a mid-century modern classic that's been given new life at the hands of Bryant's and Jazz Estate owner John Dye.
