Ramsey Renno and Tyler Curran purchased the massive indoor / outdoor space formerly known as The Point and The Sangria Bar, 904 S. Barclay St. They named the indoor space The Ivy House and the patio is called Fernweh (pronounced "Fernway") which is German for "wanderlust."

Both establishments are projected to open on or around July 4.

The two men own Milwaukee Airwaves – a DJ sound and lighting company – and have searched for the right location since 2013 to serve as their business’ home base as well as an events venue.

"We found the ideal space for what we want to accomplish," says Renno.

The Ivy House will be available for weddings and events, from corporate to not-for-profit to comedy and live music. The Fernweh will also be available for weddings and events, and will be open to the public for casual cocktailing, the pedal tavern, sporting events and more.

At this point, Ivy House will not have their own food service, but a full caterers’ kitchen is on the premises. They also plan to partner with food trucks.

Renno says they chose the name "Ivy House" because the building is covered in ivy and also because they plan to completely remodel both the venue and the patio to convey a modern, "green" aesthetic.

"We want to bring natural elements – more of a ‘barn in the country’ feel – to an industrial area,"says Renno. "This is five years in the making, and we are really excited."
