Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Iron Grate BBQ Co.

Last year, Iron Grate came in at a very close second to Smoke Shack, but this year, tables turned and the Bay View-based barbecue joint won by just one percent of the vote. 

The win comes as no surprise to anyone who's visited Iron Grate and sampled the "live fire" fare. Owner and chef Aaron Patin is the master of smoked meats including brisket, ribs, pork, links and chicken. And the stellar sides are the perfect comfort-food complements to the carne, including hush puppies that are so boldly delicious they should never be hushed or silenced.

The iconic Speed Queen and tried-and-true Maxie's also made the top five, proving, once again, that Milwaukee may be hundreds of miles from barbecue capitols like Nashville or Dallas, but we could definitely rival the best of the best anywhere in the country.
