May is National Burger Month.

So, there’s really no better time to check out all the great burger options around town.

One of the spots known for their creative selection is the Miller Time Pub & Grill, 509 W. Wisconsin Ave., which features unique burgers like the Burnt Ends Burger, featuring a steakhouse burger rubbed with a secret rib rub and topped with pork rib burnt ends, relish, onion straws and smothered with BBQ sauce.

But the pub knows there are even more fantastic burger ideas out there, so it's turned over the menu to the public with its "Burger Boss" contest.

Every three months, Miller Time Pub & Grill puts out a request to the public for unique burger recipes. Guests submit recipes via Facebook, and the culinary team selects their top three picks. The selections are then posted on Facebook for a public vote.

The burger with the most votes gets featured on Miller Time Pub & Grill’s menu for a limited time, and the person who submitted the winning burger is crowned "Burger Boss." Not only does the Burger Boss receive bragging rights, but he/she also gets a $100 Miller Time Pub & Grill gift card and dinner for six, featuring his/her masterpiece.

Now through May 26, three burgers are up for contention to be featured on the menu starting June 1:

  • "DeAnna's Original Turkey Burger" by DeAnna B includes a turkey  burger topped with turkey bacon, spinach, tomato and may on sourdough bread
  • The "Sriracha BALT Burger" by Emily S. is made with an all beef burger topped with avocado, lettuce, tomato, bacon and Siracha mayo.
  • "Taste of Mexico" by Mona G. features ground chorizo, fresh cilantro and Pepperjack cheese.

So cast your vote! And get your burger recipes ready for the next round of voting, which begins in early June.
