The Milwaukee Public Museum's beloved Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit will be livelier than usual this weekend, as interactive activities and costumed actors take to the streets for guests' education and entertainment.

On Friday and Saturday afternoon, reenactors in period wardrobe – playing parts such as a clerk from Chapman's department store, a maid from The Pfister Hotel, a pharmacist, a factory worker and more – will roam the exhibit, answering questions and telling stories about life a century ago.

In addition, interactive stations will be scattered across the streets. Examples include "I Spy: Signs & Symbols," a look into how early immigrants to the city overcame language differences, and "Making in Milwaukee," a hands-on demonstration on how clothing and other items were made back in the early 20th century.

The enhanced Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit will be open on Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
