We've spent the last several months talking plenty about the many big names headed to the Mequon Public Market – such as Anodyne, Purple Door Ice Cream, Cafe Corazon and Bavette La Boucherie – but today marks the first news about a different side of the Spur 16 development: its wellness center and its newly announced first tenant, Club Pilates Mequon.

Opened by Megan Sinnen in 2014, Club Pilates Mequon is a branch of the nationwide pilates franchise founded in 2007. The company now has more than 360 locations throughout the United States, including the Mequon spot.

"Spur 16 is being built on the concept of community – people coming together to live, eat, drink, gather and connect. What better setting for our pilates family than this inclusive, welcoming place, where the positive energy is already magnetic?" Sinnen said in a press release.

"The Spur 16 Wellness Center is a fantastic element of our development," added Jenni Vetter, director of operations at Shaffer Development, in the release. "It gives our residents and the surrounding community a beautiful historic building to experience all that Club Pilates Mequon has to offer. We are thrilled to have Megan and her team join us at Spur 16."

The wellness center at Spur 16 will be located at 6300 W. Mequon Rd., next door to the new St. Paul Fish Company and the Mequon Public Market. The retail aspects of Spur 16 development are expected to open sometime during the first quarter of 2019.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
