Yesterday, the Big Gig brought a little taste of the upcoming summer to our frosty winter by announcing its first headliner act, pop star Halsey and hip-hop artist Logic. Thankfully, things are staying hot when it comes to Summerfest updates, as this morning, the world's largest music festival announced its second American Family Insurance Amphitheater act for 2018: James Taylor and his band with special guest Bonnie Raitt and her band on Thursday, June 28.

The singer-songwriters are two of the most acclaimed and popular performers of their kind, still going strong almost a half-century into both of their impressive careers. Together, Taylor and Raitt have won 15 Grammy awards – five for Taylor, 10 for Raitt – and amassed a considerable catalogues of iconic hits, including "Fire and Rain" and "You've Got a Friend" for Taylor as well as "Something to Talk About" for Raitt. Taylor also earned a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 as well as the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015.

Tickets for James Taylor with special guest Bonnie Raitt go on sale beginning Friday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at Summerfest.com and Ticketmaster.com. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Summerfest box office, Ticketmaster ticket centers and select Walmart stores, as well as over the phone by calling either a live Ticketmaster agent at (800) 745-3000 or the Ticketmaster Express automated phone line at (866) 448-7849.

And stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more Big Gig updates as they are announced.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
