While doing some research on setlist.fm, which lists concert performances and their set lists, I decided - on a whim - to see the earliest show listed for Milwaukee. I was not expecting the result to be a pair of 1851 performances by acclaimed English operatic soprano Anna Bishop at Gardiner's Hall on Wisconsin and Water.
