The peaceful protests in Milwaukee, and across the nation, are in their second weekend of voicing their support for Black lives and their support for significant policing reform for the city and the entire country. Crowds of concerned citizens are joining together every day – but some supporters may not be able to join in person, whether due to other responsibilities, physical limitations or health concerns about the ongoing pandemic. 

Thankfully, those people can still follow along the protests and hear the voices calling out for change with various livestreams found online, often filmed directly from the frontlines of these marches. Here are five places where you can regularly find Facebook Lives and video streams of the protests against injustice. 

The New Milwaukee

This public Facebook group is likely your best resource, often featuring posts and livestream video updates from several protestors and activists – including leaders like Frank Nitty and Vaun Mayes – throughout the day and night. This is also a good overall outlet to keep updated on the various marches and gatherings coming together around the city.

Frank Nitty

One of the standout leaders of the recent protests for George Floyd and against injustice and police brutality, Frank Nitty regularly posts his livestreams from the frontlines onto his personal Facebook page as well as The New Milwaukee group.

Vaun Mayes

You can follow along with the ongoing protests with Vaun Mayes, a local activist, community leader and founder of Program the Parks who posts his livestreams onto both his personal Facebook page and The New Milwaukee group.

Jonathan Brostoff

Brostoff is the state assembly representative for the 19th district, who often livestreams the protests he is attending – complete with talking and discussing with the other protestors around him for multiple perspectives.

Nino Cerda

This local advocate and activist regularly goes live on Facebook to stream the latest protests and keep people updated on the latest developments.
