Every fan to be screened before entering BMO Harris Bradley Center

For the past season and a half, National Basketball Association security policy has required random screening and wanding of all guests entering the BMO Harris Bradley Center for Milwaukee Bucks games.

Effective with tonight's Brooklyn Nets vs. Bucks game and for all Bucks games thereafter, the NBA is requiring that this security screening occur for every fan at all Bucks home games.

The policy assures a safe and friendly experience for all games for all of our guests. Our guests' compliance and cooperation is appreciated.

To prevent any excessive waiting or long lines, it is suggested that guests arrive early and that any unnecessary items be left in their locked vehicles if possible, and that any bags or purses are open and ready for inspection when the screener position is reached. Keys and metallic objects should be held in their hand upon arrival.

The Bucks and the BMO Harris Bradley Center have prepared for several weeks for this process to provide for timely entry. The change in policy is not the result of any specific finding or experience in Milwaukee. It is a league mandate, and all 30 teams and venues are required to comply.

We thank our guests, as always, for their continued support and cooperation with the BMO Harris Bradley Center and Bucks staff to ensure that we comply with NBA policy.

I have been to about 10 games this year, typically with my 12yr old son. Some games they have asked both of us to stop for the wanding, sometimes just one of us, or we just have been waved by. The BC Employees have been professional and efficient about it and I'd say it is a 30 second delay beyond the normal entry to the game. We have tickets in our package for tonight's Nets game and will be going as well. It should be a pretty small crowd given that its a Weds night and will be extremely cold out. If the process of getting into the BC is the same as it has been or maybe a minute or two more, no complaints - this is a league mandate. However, if they decide to go "cheap" and cut back to just a handful of Security guys and only let us in two doors so we are outside freezing, that will be the breaking point for this family that's trying to help support a franchise with an unstable future. The Bucks/BC/NBA need to ensure there are enough people manning the security checkpoints that the lone few of us who will be there on a frigid weeknight aren't lined up out to State Street because they don't want to pay for multiple lines. We like a Beer and (Root) Beer on 3rd Street before the game so if this means you have to depart at 6:45 as opposed to 6:59 to get into a sparsely populated game, then add that to the list of reasons the few of us that are coming regularly decided to not re-up.....Let's see how the BC handles this mandate... no excuses....
