Every week in 2015, OnMilwaukee.com and local design company Too Much Metal join forces to introduce the latest member of the Milwaukee All-Stars – a team of unfamiliar winners living in the city who consistently and diligently make it shine. Each week, a new member will join the team – based on your recommendations – and at the end of the year all will come together in a Rally of the Raddest Milwaukeeans. We're not sure what that means quite yet, so for now, meet …

Jesse Masche

Jesse Masche is the owner of East Side Pilates and works through her business and in her personal life to promote a healthy lifestyle in Milwaukee. This is not an easy task because, well, beer. And cheese.

However, Masche continues to lead by example and have fun along the way, as well. She is an inspiration to many, including her dog, Enzo.

OnMilwaukee.com / Too Much Metal: How long have you worked at this thing?

Jesse Masche: I started my Pilates career in Chicago seven years ago when I injured myself being a massage therapist. I realized I had to get serious about effective bodywork movement. This eventually led to the opportunity of purchasing East Side Pilates.

OMC / TMM: What time of year / season is your favorite in Milwaukee and why?

JM: Summer, duh! I’m a go-go-go gal and summertime in Milwaukee is hoppin'. From Summerfest to RW24 to outdoor crafty fairs to street fests all over the neighborhoods – there is always something going on in the summer. East Side Pilates even did "Pilates in the Park" which we look forward to doing again next summer.

OMC / TMM: What's your favorite / or least favorite smell in Milwaukee?

JM: The pleasing aroma emanating from the Smoke Shack in the Third Ward. Gotta get your meat sweats on. The worst smell is still that spot just north of Bradford Beach with the dead stinky fishes.

OMC/ TMM: What's your hope for Milwaukee?

JM: That we educate more Milwaukeeans on the importance of physical fitness / body movement and an overall healthy lifestyle. Along with their beers and cheeses, of course.

OMC / TMM: When / how did you fall in love with Milwaukee?

JM: I lived in Milwaukee all my life and moved to Chicago for nine years. Coming back has made me appreciate "Smallwaukee" working on growing into a big city. I definitely get more things done in a day here. Fewer complications.

OMC / TMM: Why do you do what you do?

JM: Because of my own personal adventure with discovering how to make my parts function the way they were meant to and I can provide this service for others with my passion for helping people.

OMC / TMM: One guilty pleasure?

JM: I would have to say tattoo art by my friend Ryan Manske on a pretty regular basis!

OMC / TMM: Name a Milwaukeean you would like to high five.

JM: I would love to give a high five to our Milverine but he’s probably busy walking the streets of Milwaukee. So I want to give my friend Sarah Philipp a high five (even though she would rather get a hug), owner and certified Holistic Nutritionist of Abundelicious. She is a bundle of joy and one of my favorite people. She helps people make food taste delicious while being nutritious. Yes, corny, yet true!
