In honor of today's MKE for Ukraine one-day fundraiser, we're rerunning this piece from earlier this week. To donate and help support the children and families in need, click this link

Satiate your sweet tooth while supporting a good cause by supporting the Bake for Ukraine, a bake sale headed up by local bakers which supports the Ukraine's fight for sovereignty.

#BakeforUkraine is an international effort to "Make cookies, not war." As one of the world's largest exporters of wheat, Ukraine is truly the bread basket of the world, which makes this benefit particularly meaningful for bakers.

All participating bakers are donating all of their time and ingredients, so 100% of the proceeds from this sale benefits the World Central Kitchen and Save the Children.

The Milwaukee bake sale participants include Sarah Mironczuk of  Bakehouse 23 MKE; Kris Collett; MK Drayna of WhiskChick; Katie and Kurt Fogle of Midway Bakery and Dairyland; Allie Fischer of Matilda Bakehouse; Sarah Keller; Empress Baking Co.; Rachel Piirto; Jesska Nava and Kelly Taugher; Jonna Zaczek of Third Coast Provisions; Nicole Masters; Annelise Linton of Spotted Rabbit Bakery; Erin Swanson of Grand Geneva Resort; Stone Creek Coffee; Black Shoe Bakery; and Sukey Pett.

How to order

Folks can pre-order their baked goods for pick-up on either Thursday, April 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lakefront Brewery, 1872 N. Commerce St.; OR Saturday, April 9 between noon and 3 p.m. at Art Bar, 722 E. Burleigh St.
