Here's something expected: yet another big concert announcement in a week that's had no shortage of them. Here's the unexpected part: The latest major show features beloved screen actor Bill Murray teaming up with cellist Jan Vogler and others for a special night of live music and literature on Tuesday, April 17.
Murray and Vogler met during their travels in New York, sparking a mutual admiration for the other's artistic skills that they both knew they had to combine together into a project of some kind. The result is this one-of-a-kind program based off their "New Worlds" collaboration, showcasing and paying tribute to American values in literature and music and the voices that shaped generations past and artists present and future, from Hemingway to Twain, Bernstein to Gershwin, and many, many more.
Murray plays the role of the event's narrator and singer, while Vogler's cello (along with accompanists Mira Wang on violin and Vanessa Perez on piano) help serve as the setting for the move star's unique readings.
The unique show will release tickets to the public beginning Friday, Feb. 16, at noon. For more information on tickets or the show itself, visit the Riverside's website.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
