Tina Owen and Jennifer Morales are the new owners of Broad Vocabulary, 2241 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.,  and the two, along with a few volunteers, will celebrate a grand reopening Nov. 9-11.

Broad Vocabulary is an independent bookshop in Bay View with a nice selection of feminist, LGBT, radical, children's, DIY, art, young adult, poetry, fiction books and more.

Here's the run-down of festivities at Broad Vocabulary:

Friday, Nov. 9 from 5  to 7 p.m. the shop hostesses "Blessings & Bubbles," a champagne toast to rechristen the store.

Saturday, Nov. 10 features children's events from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a story hour at 11 a.m. in the expanded children's section.

Sunday, Nov. 11 includes make-your-own eco-friendly wrapping paper designs at noon, and a Scrabble party with wine and cookies at 4 p.m.

Stop in for any or all of these events, and stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for an article about the new Broad Vocabulary in a couple of weeks.
