Play ball! The 2025 Lakeshore Chinooks home opener is on Friday, May 30th, and there are plenty of reasons to get out to the ballpark this year. From giveaways to a whole seperate identity weekend, there's fun for the whole family at Kapco Park. Here's some of the top reasons you should be cheering on the Chinooks all summer:

1. Chinooks at the Movies

This season’s theme turns Kapco Park into a summer-long blockbuster. From “Field of Dreams” to superhero nights, fans can enjoy all of the action of the wood bat league with nights that pay homage to your favorite movies, baseball or otherwise.

2. New look 'Nooks

After a couple of rebuilding years, the Chinooks are hitting reset with head coach Mikel Moreno taking charge. This year's roster includes college standouts from the ACC, the Sun Belt Conference, the Big 12, and even a few homegrown products from Concordia University and other Milwaukee-area colleges. The young roster even includes a high school senior in Hartland pitcher Jack Roventini.

3. You can join 'Nook Nation

The new look from the Chinooks is more than just the players on the field, but what they're wearing as well. Inspired by MLB’s City Connect uniforms, the Nook Nation edition jerseys give the team's branding a slick new update. Exclusive Nook Nation giveaways include hats (July 2), shirts (July 29), logo baseballs (July 24), and pint glasses (July 10), so you can get in on the action with the price of admission.

4. Bobbleheads galore

Baseball and bobbleheads just go together. It's a bobbling match made at the ballpark. This year’s bobblehead lineup leans heavy on the movie theme, with Chinooks mascot Gill getting the "Field of Dreams" treatment, and also joining the Marvel cinematic universe:

  • Field of Dreams Gill bobblehead (May 30)
  • Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase bobblehead (June 28)
  • Superhero Gill bobblehead (August 3)

5. Family-friendly guest appearances

The Chinooks are fun for the whole family! Whether you're more into the action during the game, or the games happening between innings, there's something to put a smile on your face. For the littlest Chinooks fans, though, there's some big-name special guests that you'll find roaming Kapco Park this summer:

  • Woody & Buzz from "Toy Story" (June 19)
  • Paw Patrol’s Chase & Skye, plus Pikachu (June 28)
  • Bluey & Bingo (June 29)

6. Plus some wrestling legends

A pair of wrestling greats make their way out of the squared circle and will be appearing at Kapco Park this year, too. One half of legendary tag teams The Rockers and Money Inc. will be on hand at a pair of games this year to sign autographs and take photos.

  • Marty Jannetty (June 28)
  • “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (July 13)

7. An ode to the Beer Belly

In recent years, it has become commonplace for minor league teams to change their entire identity for a day or two. Now, the Lakeshore Chinooks are getting in on the act, trading out their fish-themed look for an ode to, well, the beer belly for one weekend. Read more about that here.

8. Tons of unique giveaways this season

From tote bags (June 1) to Hawaiian shirts (June 20) and even a Gill Coin Bank (June 7), fans can snag a different freebie at almost every homestand. There’s no such thing as leaving empty-handed when it comes to the Chinooks.

9. Affordable nights out

Kapco Park offers a laid-back, fan-friendly atmosphere perfect for families, casual fans, and die-hards alike. Plus, you’re supporting local baseball and future big leaguers, at prices that won't break the bank. If you want to soak up the summer while taking in a game, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better experience on a budget than Kapco Park at dusk.

10. Every game is an event

Besides all of the giveaways, special appearances, and alternate identites, the Lakeshore Chinooks have something for all baseball fans. There's also games and giveaways between innings, the thrill of the Northwoods League, and of course, Gill making the rounds on any given night at the ballpark.
