Lots of 414 Day promotions, specials and merch will land on Sunday, April 14, but one of the coolest is a beer collab by Bay View’s Component Brewing and the Friends of the Domes.

A trio of brews, one for each dome,, hits the brewery, in the Lincoln Warehouse, 2018 S. 1st St., that day.

“Each beer is created with ingredient(s) found in each respective dome,” says brewer Doug Krysiak, who adds that the ingredients themselves, however, were not harvested at the Domes. “We wanted to create beers that could show people the diverse flavors inside the Domes.”

Desert Dome is a 4.9 percent ABV gose with agave and lime and Floral Dome is a 7 percent hazy IPA that uses Phantasm hops.

The most unique of the brews is one that could come from Jamaica. Tropical Dome is a fruited sour (5.6 percent) that has soursop, guava and pineapple.

All three beers will be available on draft and in cans to Mug Club Members starting Friday, April 12 and they go on sale to the general public at noon on 414 Day. Then, they will enter retail distribution.

Component will donate $1 per draft of any of the three dome beers, Krysiak says, and each can has a QR code that leads to info about supporting the Friends of the Domes.

“As a former environmental educator – shoutout Nature's Classroom Institute – supporting the Friends of the Domes and bringing more attention to the Domes is important to me,” says Krysiak.

“Milwaukee is a special city that has given me so much personally and professionally and leading this project has been my love letter to 414 Day.”

What Krysiak doesn’t say is that he’s leaving Component soon to move to Boston, and the brewery is looking for a replacement. If you’re interested, contact the brewery directly.
