The timing of a coffee bar and a pie shop opening simultaneously is impeccable, and it's happening soon at Crossroads Collective, 2238 N. Farwell Ave.
SmallPie, currently in Bay View, will add a second location to the Crossroads Collective food hall. SmallPie is part of the Bay View PIE Inc., along with Honeypie, Palomino and the Honeypie Bakeshop kitchen.
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring our pies up to the East Side," says managing partner Valeri Lucks. "We are looking forward to being a part of the neighborhood."
Crossroads also partnered with Pilcrow Coffee and will offer a full coffee and espresso bar at The Pharmacy – already a tenant Crossroads – using Pilcrow’s beans and cold-brew coffee.
"What excites us at Pilcrow Coffee is bringing our coffee to the East Side of Milwaukee in such a rad concept and adding to the rich fabric already curated at Crossroads," says owner Ryan Hoban.
SmallPie’s signature items are their savory and sweet made-from-scratch hand pies, with buttery, flaky crusts surrounding seasonal meat and veggie fillings. Handmade bagels, quiche, sliced pie and pastries are also on the menu.
"SmallPie is a perfect companion to our new menu of Pilcrow Coffee beverages," said Gina Gruenewald, manager of Crossroads.
