Love food trucks? So do we! So much so that OnMilwaukee partnered with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. to bring the first MKE Food Truck Fest to Henry Maier Festival Park in July. Find out more here. It's obvious from the name that Cupcake-A-Rhee specializes in cupcakes, but the Port Washington-based business also whips up a variety of other desserts and baked items like cookies, larger cakes and bars.
Founded by Bob and Ellen Paulus, the mobile bakery is best known for its red velvet cream cheese cupcakes and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes.
"All of our cupcakes are made from scratch with locally sources ingredients whenever possible like local honey, local maple syrup, real berries and fresh pumpkins," says Ellen. "We make all of our own sauces like hot fudge, caramel and raspberry sauce. We don’t use pre-made products or mixes, so you can really taste the difference in a fresh, scratch-baked cupcake or treat."

Vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options: "We do offer gluten free and vegan options, but with the understanding that we have all of those allergens in our kitchen, so we provide GF/V products for people making lifestyle choices, not for people with severe allergies. This is for their own safety in case of cross contact," says Ellen.
Where did the name come from: The name "Cupcake-A-Rhee" is a play on the word “cupcakery," but named after my brother Rich, who’s nickname was Rhee. He passed away in a construction accident in 2002, but he loved sweets of all kinds. Our name is a tribute to him and his love of cake.
Where to find the truck (other then at the MKE Food Truck Fest): Cupcake-A-Rhee has two regular weekly stops from March through December: Port Washington on Tuesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Advance Auto Parts store on Grand Avenue and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Shell South gas station on Paradise Drive in West Bend.
"Our schedule is posted on our Facebook page at the start of every week how to find us in addition to those two locations," says Ellen.
Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.
Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
