While the Good City Brewing location in Wauwatosa’s Mayfair Collection has been rebranded as another location of The Explorium, the original Good City taproom and brewery on the East Side is getting its own look and name, and a new menu, according to owners Joan and Mike Doble.
The location at 2108 N. Farwell Ave. will close temporarily on Monday, March 24 while it is bring rebranded as Wayfinder, a name that is meant to reflect the Dobles’ passion for travel and shared meals.
Mike Doble says that the Good City brand won't go away immediately.
According to a statement from Joan Doble, Wayfinder, “embraces global influences while fostering a warm and welcoming space for gathering.”
The Dobles’ The Explorium Hospitality Group purchased Good City in January.
The Tosa location was changed over last month and at the same time it was announced that the Good City taproom in the Mequon Public Market was closing.
“The name Wayfinder pays tribute to the early Polynesian explorers – navigators who sought out the best of the world around them,” says Joan Doble. “That same spirit of discovery guides our menu and our approach to hospitality. We want guests to feel like they’re on a journey, sharing amazing food and conversation with friends and family.”
The Explorium Chef Michael Mondelli is crafting a menu that Joan Doble says, “will feature a thoughtful blend of international flavors.”
After about a week of redecoration, rebranding and remaking the menu, Wayfair will open the first week of April by reservation only with Mug Club members and Good Citizens getting priority during that time.
Like the Farwell location, Mike Doble says, the Deer District location will get its own name and personality.
“Still working on the concept,” he says. “It’s a good location! Just needs a refresh. (But) no work on that until after Bucks season is over.”
