Milwaukee restaurants, taverns and grocery stores may soon start quaking in their boots. That's because the City of Milwaukee has made its health inspection reports available online and in an easily searchable database.
The searchable site can be accessed from the City of Milwaukee homepage or by clicking here.
You'd be surprised at some of the places that have had violations in the City of Milwaukee Health Dept. Food Establishment Inspection Reporting System; everything from Palomino to Zayna's Pizza. Grocery stores like Whole Foods have also had violations.
In addition to a name search, users can access reports via zip code or aldermanic districts.
If you enjoy eating in local restaurants, it might be best to avoid looking at the reports altogether. Rare was the inspection I found that contained no violations. On the other hand, to their credit, most restaurants appeared willing and able to correct problems in a timely manner and most reinspections found that issues were rectified.
