Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, KidShare: Milwaukee’s Finest Culinary Event will bring together over 30 of Milwaukee’s best restaurants, chefs, bakers and caterers for the much-anticipated event on Thursday, May 9 from 6-10 p.m. at The Pfister Hotel.
Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarship for the programs of the JCC. Julie and Dan Rosenfeld, and Anne Zizzo and Scott Yauck are serving as event co-chairs.
New for 2019, the theme of "Perfect Pairings" invites KidShare’s talented culinary participants to create unique menu items that celebrate a JCC program area, like early childhood education, camping, or after-school programs. Chefs will use their creativity and inspired childhood memories to bring a new twist to their delicious dishes at this year’s event.
At KidShare, guests will also nibble and nosh on a myriad of savory and sweet food offerings from popular eateries like Carnevor, Lake Park Bistro, The Cheel and Mila’s European Bakery, as well as a number of new event participants, such as Birch + Butcher, Char’d, Fauntleroy, Fresh Fin Poké, and Giggly Champagne and Wine Bar at Saint Kate the Arts Hotel. The evening also includes a silent auction, as well as a raffle with a wide variety of themed prizes.
KidShare is more than Milwaukee’s most anticipated fundraising event, it’s a community united in a shared cause, according to Mark Shapiro, president and CEO of the JCC.
"The JCC is blessed to serve children and families with programs like early childhood education, after-school care, special needs programming, day and resident camping, the Jewish Community Pantry, adult enrichment opportunities, and more. At KidShare, we gather with hundreds of like-minded friends, neighbors and community partners to raise funds and awareness to ensure that all families, regardless of their economic situation, can experience a JCC program that meets their needs."
Programs benefitting from the event include:
- Gan Ami Early Childhood Education;
- KidsCenter Before and After School Care;
- Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp;
- Steve and Shari Sadek Camp Interlaken JCC;
- Special Needs.
Individual tickets for the event are $225 and may be purchased online or by calling Micki Seinfeld, JCC director of special events, at (414) 967-8235 or meseinfeld@jccmilwaukee.org. Various levels of corporate and individual sponsorships are also available.
