This post is brought to you by The Commerce Team. We operate independently of the OnMilwaukee.com editorial department, and if you take advantage of an item or deal we recommend, we get a share of the sale. We read the comments, and we want your feedback.
With the holiday seasons in full swing, OnMilwaukee.com, our ShopLocal marketplace and Local First Milwaukee have teamed to offer many unique, local items and deals. It's easy to access these local deals and over the next several days I'll profile seven of the local items.
Watch our Facebook page for a chance to win many of these local items, and – as I said – read my blog for some cool profiles.
Here's one from A.J. Ugent Furs.
Family-owned and operated since 1922, A.J. Ugent Furs and Fashions features an extensive collection of furs, leathers, shearlings, woolens for men and women.
A.J. Ugent Furs is offering all of its standard services out of its store location on Capitol Drive, but also a festive, football themed green and gold item. Rabbit earmuffs. Warm and cozy, and in team colors. Unique and priced at $60. Other team colors including solid red, blue and gold, orange and navy, and red and white also are available.
A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.
Early in his career, Sherman was one of youngest members of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and currently is involved in numerous civic and community groups - including board positions at The Wisconsin Center District, Wisconsin Club and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
He also thinks you should read OnMilwaukee each and every day.
