It's the characters behind the 140 characters that make Twitter the social media phenomenon that it is. And when it comes to Milwaukee there are some tweeters you'd be a twit not to follow.

Whether you are looking for helpful info, personal insight to your favorite athletes, or just cruising for laughs, Milwaukee's Twitterati has got you covered. Here are a few twitter accounts we suggest you #FM (follow Milwaukee).

@packers: The Green and Gold's official Twitter feed is a great follow for fans who don't want to wait to hear about off season moves from a secondary source. The Packers in-house PR department also posts links to all kinds of Packers-related content for the cheesehead who just can't get enough.

@AaronRodgers12: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't tweet during the season, but has been going off since winning the Super Bowl. He's been tweeting hilariously about everything from when it's appropriate to do his signature "belt" celebration in everyday life and fielding questions from fans to sharing his love of Chuck Norris flicks.

@ClayMatthews52: During the season everyone's favorite long-haired linebacker took to his account to hype up fans for games, or shout out his little brother Oregon Duck Casey Matthews. He's taken fans along with him in the whirlwind publicity tour following the Super Bowl tweeting pics from backstage at the Grammy's or while prepping for a skit on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show in a bald cap.

@BLKICE3: Brandon Jennings never holds back ruminating on everything from the current state of his Milwaukee Bucks squad, his feelings on romance and what songs he's listening to at the moment.

@TheTeditorial: The Fox 6 anchor cracks wise on the days headlines and takes to his twitter account to deliver breaking news. Like his Ted's Take segment, Perry uses his twitter account to take editorial license he's not allowed anchoring the nightly news.

@SusanKim4: You'll struggle to find any local media personalities more engaged with their followers than TMJ4 "Daybreak" co-anchor Susan Kim who tweets at a pace that makes one wonder where she fines the time to do her show.

@koppscustard: The only way to find out what Kopp's flavor of the day is without having to put pants on.

@MikeBrenner: A champion of the Milwaukee art scene, the former Hotcakes Gallery owner and former OnMilwaukee.com employee talks about his two loves beer and art, backfilling with day to day happenings like observations about the guys sitting next to him at Alterra who brought their own sandwich ingredients.

@AJBombers: It's hard to find another restaurant in Milwaukee that takes their twitter account as seriously as their food. Luckily both are pretty easily digested. The restaurant's employees and their twitter minions are some of the most active in the city and are colorful personalities in their own right.

@yearinbeer: Follow along as brothers BJ and Michael Seidel attempt to drink a different beer every day for a year. The beer loving brothers post pictures of their daily brews and links to their blog, and all kinds of other frothy content.

@realjuiceboxxx: Milwaukee's hardest working MC details his globe trotting exploits and gives props to everything from fellow musicians to hamburger joints with his signature #legendinthegame hash-tag.

@pezzetino: The talented multi-instrumental performer Pezzetino aka Margaret Stutt may have moved to Brooklyn, but she can't stop tweeting about Cheese State happenings as well as what may be going on in her personal and professional life at any given moment.

@JohnAxford: The moustachioed Milwaukee Brewer's pitcher takes digs at Cubs fans, tweets at fans and gives props to Oscar winners. A great example of how Twitter can give fans more insight to their favorite athletes and entertainers personalities.
