It's time to ring out ahoya with an MU rah rah!

If you’ve never heard these lyrics, I’m sure you will this weekend as the Golden Eagles take on the Butler Bulldogs at Fiserv Forum on Sunday – aka National Marquette Day.

For over 25 years, Marquette University has been sporting its blue and gold for an epic global celebration of school spirit and university values. This year, National Marquette Day falls on Sunday, Feb. 9. To make the most of your holiday, here are just a few places making things merry for the Marquette faithful this weekend.

Pro tip: You might want to go to bed early the night before because these Marquette parties are starting bright and early at 9 a.m. And for bonus places to party, here's our Marquette bar guide as well as a Deer District directory.

The MECCA Sports Bar & Grill
1134 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.
(414) 908-0401

Marquette President Michael. R. Lovell and other Marquette legends will kick off the tradition with a pep rally and brunch at The MECCA. There’ll be a brunch buffet to accompany the unlimited draft beer, house wine, Bloody Marys and mimosas! (The goal IS to day-drink and not feel bad.)

Oak Barrel Public House

Stop in for Oak Barrel’s juicy burgers, $3 Hamm’s tallboys and $7 Tito’s doubles. If you’re not in the mood for the lunch menu, Oak Barrel will have a special brunch platter, too.

RWB will host a viewing and post-game party with $4 Golden Eagles shots. Doors open at 11 a.m., and Marquette Alumni DJ SPEX will spin tunes for the party.

Another place to day-drink for National Marquette day is Who’s on Third, where they’ll serve up food and amazing Bloody Marys. PBR tallboys will be $3 and Tito’s doubles will be $7! (Grab a platter of grilled wings; I promise you won’t regret it.)
