The NHL is coming to Milwaukee – no, not full-time but once again for a Chicago Blackhawks preseason spat hosted at Fiserv Forum this fall.
As a latest chapter of the "Home Away From Home" series, the Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues will drop the puck at the Downtown arena on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
In addition to the game itself, Deer District will host a number of pre-game parties and celebrations for the event – including Blackhawks celeb sightings, live music performances and more.
The game marks the second time the NHL and the "Home Away From Home" series have taken over Fiserv Forum, hosting a preseason match between the Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild back in 2022. Prior to that game, the last time the NHL took the ice in Milwaukee was for a Detroit Red Wings-Washington Capitals bout hosted at the Bradley Center in 1993.
"Our players, staff and fans had such an incredible experience at Fiserv Forum two years ago, and we’re really excited to bring Blackhawks gameday back to Milwaukee this upcoming preseason," said Jaime Faulkner, President of Business Operations at Chicago Blackhawks, in a release. "This is a great opportunity for all of our fans in northern Illinois and Wisconsin to be a part of Blackhawks hockey, and there’s no better opponent to take on than a Central division rival, the St. Louis Blues, in this special matchup before we meet again at the Winter Classic in December.”
"We’re excited to welcome the NHL back to Milwaukee following the success of the Blackhawks’ inaugural ‘Home Away From Home’ series in 2022,” said Peter Feigin, Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President, in the release. “We strive to bring a diverse lineup of events to Fiserv Forum and look forward to hosting fans of the NHL, Blackhawks and Blues this fall."
Tickets for the Blackhawks-Blues preseason game will go on sale beginning Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Fiserv Forum's website. For more information, click here. And for even more Milwaukee hockey action, be sure to stay tuned for the Milwaukee Admirals' 2024-25 schedule coming out soon!
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
