“And I heard that there's a special place
Where boys and girls can all be queens every single day”
– Chappell Roan, “Pink Pony Club”

If you missed Chappell Roan’s recent performances in Madison and Chicago at Lallapalooza – or you’d simply like to relive the “Femininomenon” one more time – you’ll want to mark your calendar for Saturday, Aug. 24 from 9 p.m. to (at least) midnight.

That’s because Lost Whale, 2151 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., is going to be bumpin’ all night long during their Pink Pony Club pop-up, a tribute to Chappell Roan, having fun … and expressing yourself however you see fit.

What to expect

The pop-up was the brainchild of Lost Whale General Manager Maria Westfall who says she couldn’t resist the opportunity to create a dance party moment at the popular Bay View cocktail bar.

“For me, hosting this event is about giving our guests a reason to come dance and sing their hearts out to Chappell Roan and a playlist filled with ‘club bangerz’, while expressing themselves in any way they’d like to,” says Westfall.

“Whether in a t-shirt and jeans or showing off a full Chappell Roan drag moment, it’s all about leaning into the energy of having silly fun and being yourself.”

Westfall says the decor will be light and fun. Envision plenty of pink tinsel, disco balls, glow-sticks, pink cowboy hats and plenty of glitter.  There will also be an additional speaker set up outside to ensure appropriate sing-along levels throughout the bar and patio.

Guests will also be able to indulge in two special cocktails just for the occasion.

  • Good Luck Babe: A refreshing Cazadores Blanco-based cocktail featuring peach and basil. It comes with an oh-so-Wisconsin Pull Tab garnis

  • Red Wine Supernova: A fully carbonated vodka-based cocktail with Framboise and strawberry water, topped with Odyssea Red Sangria and Galaxy Dust.

Lost Whale is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
