South Milwaukee has flourished into an eclectic, fun community in the past few years. The city's natural world offerings have always been spectacular – Grant Park's Seven Bridges is one of the most gorgeous hiking trails in Southeastern Wisconsin – but it's also welcomed a lot of new businesses that ushered in a fresh, new personality for the community.

On Saturday, Nov. 30, in conjunction with Small Business Saturday, South Milwaukee will host Shop Small World Tour 2. The invite promises "a cornucopia of cultural diversity, shopping, entertainment and more."

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 16 businesses plan to participate. Each business will have a different themed shopping experience for the day and provide drinks and/or appetizers along with discounts. The shops will also issue maps/passports and raffle prizes. Attendees with at least five stamps can enter to win the prizes.

A shuttle – aka "tour bus" – will take attendees to the businesses off the beaten path and Bakehouse 23 will host complimentary hot cocoa stations at each stop.

"I love seeing how all the businesses come together to create such a fun event," says Sarah Mironczuk, owner of Bakehouse 23 and one of the event organizers. "I am personally looking forward to the food we will be creating and selling during the event for everyone to stop by and fuel up between shops."

Here is the list of participating businesses and their themes/countries of focus:

  • Omen / Omen Alternative, 1310 Milwaukee Ave.  – Iceland
  • Parkway Floral, 1001 Milwaukee Ave. - France
  • Bakehouse 23, 1309 Milwaukee Ave. - Ukraine
