Back in early February we announced that Trocadero was closing its doors following a weekend of special Valentine's Day-themed events to undergo a major renovation.

Great news, Milwaukeeans. Now that spring weather has arrived, co-owner Mike Eitel, of the Diablos Rojos Restaurant Group, tells us that he and his team are ready to re-open the formerly French-themed restaurant on Tuesday, April 6.

We haven't had a chance to take a look yet, but according to Eitel and his business partner Eric Wagner, the changes are pretty epic.

Trocadero now features a new bar and dining room, an enhanced gardens area, and an entirely different menu. The restaurant will be open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"The changes are pretty dramatic," Eitel said. "We are confident our loyal customers will love what we've done to the space and the menus. "We are ready to make our customers' experience even better for the next ten year

What a better way to ring in patio season?

Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
