The University of Wisconsin football team moved up in the national polls without playing a game.

The Badgers, who finished their regular season with a victory Nov. 17 in Minnesota, moved up four spots to No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Badgers (9-3) also moved up to 19th in the Associated Press poll and 18th in the BCS Rankings.

West Virginia moved into the top spot in the coach's poll, followed by Missouri and Ohio State. Georgia is fourth, with Virginia Tech and Kansas tied for fifth. Illinois was ranked 14th.

The Associated Press has Missouri ranked No. 1, followed by West Virginia, Ohio State, Georgia and LSU.

Because of all the scrambling at the top of the polls, the Badgers won't find out their bowl assignment for another week. Likely spots include the Outback Bowl in Tampa and the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
