The Milwaukee Public Museum is a museum of human and natural history that interprets the world's culture and natural heritage through collections, research, education and exhibits.

Created in 1882, the museum has many interesting exhibits such as The Streets of Old Milwaukee, The Living Oceans, The Rain Forest and Butterflies Alive.

Curiosity Circles

Join us for a new evening event series, Curiosity Circles! View our newest exhibit, Weapons: Beyond the Blade, and stay to unpack your experiences with and perceptions of weapons with your fellow community members. From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., we invite participants to view the exhibit, and from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., we’ll gather for light refreshments and dialogue circles facilitated by the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion, offering a unique format that allows all voices to be heard. Be prepared to examine your own perceptions beyond the blade!

A Tribute to Survival Visitor Engagement

Meet James Flores of the Oneida Nation -- our Anthropology Department's Diversity Intern! James will be discussing pow wows and answering questions about North American Indians in his regalia on Thursday mornings this November and December. The Milwaukee Public Museum "comes to life" during our Alive! events, where visitors get the chance to talk to costumed interpreters and participate in an array of hands-on activities. In European Village Alive! this December, learn about European holiday traditions from our costumed interpreters! Friday, December 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
