Fans of actor, comedian and TV host John McGivern will delight in the news that he's filming a new travel show, "John McGivern's Main Streets." The new half-hour, weekly program will debut in January of 2022. McGivern, with longtime producer Lois Maurer, will visit 13 main streets in the Upper Midwest including Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. During the first season, McGivern will visit Milwaukee's burgeoning Harbor District neighborhood, Sister Bay in Door County and Green Lake near Ripon, among others. “We’re going to go 300 miles in all directions of my condo in Downtown Milwaukee. I’m so excited to expand my travels to the surrounding states and meet fellow Midwesterners on their turf. I already ordered my I-PASS!” says McGivern. "John McGivern's Main Streets" will air on top TV stations all across the upper Midwest and Milwaukee's Plum Media will produce the series. "The goal of this show is to strengthen and build goodwill in communities by telling the stories of diverse people as they live local and commit themselves to their main streets," says Maurer. "We're going to lesser-known places that are very visitable. You might not have heard of LeClaire, Iowa, but after seeing our show you'll wanna go there." The Emmy Award-winning McGivern and Maurer worked together for Milwaukee PBS' "Around The Corner with John McGivern" for nine seasons. The show was canceled in December despite high ratings and much to the dismay of his large, passionate fan base. "We're moving forward now and really excited to be doing so," says McGivern.
