Treat yourself, Milwaukee! Read on to see what we loved this week.

Miss Cupcake’s Peanut Butter Cupcake - I’ve had a major sweet tooth lately. I think it’s the rainy weather. Miss Cupcake Bakery at 3801 N. Oakland Ave. has a great variety of delectable treats on their menu, but my favorite is the Peanut Butter Cupcake - decadent chocolate cake with a creamy peanut butter frosting. My main gripe with cupcakes is usually that they're too small (like when I go to a birthday party and they have  cupcakes instead of cake - do not even pretend that's okay) but Miss Cupcake serves up a hefty treat. The bakery also offers other tasty goods like cookies and pies. – Colleen Jurkiewicz

Weekend Brewers games – The Milwaukee Brewers conclude a six-game homestand this weekend by hosting the rival Chicago Cubs at Miller Park. First pitch on Saturday is 6:10 p.m. and Sunday's is 1:10 p.m. Fans attending Sunday's game will have a chance to get a George Scott bobblehead as well. On the field, the Brewers hope to take advantage of their rebuilding rivals to the south and get back to .500. – Jim Owczarski

Buy yourself flowers – This sounds cheesy, but I truly recommend it. Recently, on rainy day #109 (or so it felt), I was grocery shopping and picked up a bouquet of flowers. I almost never do this, but something compelled me to grab a $5 bunch of brightly-dyed daisies. I put them on my kitchen table and no joke, these flowers have brightened my slightly dampened spirits for days. – Molly Snyder

"Modern Maple" by Teresa Marrone (Minnesota Historical Society Press) – When grocery shopping there are some things I'm always willing to spend a little extra on. Real maple syrup is one of them. My kids love it. For them it's a still a weekend treat they won't go without. So, I want them to have the real thing. But, like most, I rarely think outside the box – or the bottle – when it comes to syrup. I love Teresa Marrone's book for its brief history of the stuff but mostly for the recipes. Sure, she starts with a chapter on breakfast, but there are also recipes for barbecue sauce, maple butter, salads, sweet and sour cabbage, muffins with maple syrup, fish, pizza and more. Marrone's tempting recipes remind us of the versatility of cooked maple sap, which, you know folks, ain't just for breakfast anymore. – Bobby Tanzilo

pHresh Deodorant –Since I ranted about my aversion to underarm deodorant and antiperspirant right here on OnMilwaukee.com, I thought it was only appropriate that I inform all of you that I have been swiping a 100% natural stick under my pits. pHresh Deodorant is free of all the bad stuff I don’t want, like aluminum and petroleum, but powered by an antimicrobial ingredient that renders a fresh, clean scent and stops odor-causing bacteria. I’ve been using the Crème Brule, which has such a light hint of aroma that I barely even notice it. pHresh leaves no white streak on my skin, crumbly "eggs" or residue on my clothing. Plus, it seems to last through my active, 12-hour work days, keeping me from offending those around me. Smell naturally wonderful too. – Lindsay Garric
