During tonight's Newaukee Night Market, OnMilwaukee will administer free temporary tattoos by a newfangled device called The Prinker.

The Prinker, a hand-held printer that quickly converts any drawing or design to a temporary tattoo, is from a South Korean company called SketchOn. The cost is $500, which includes the machine, ink cartridges and prep spray. Each cartridge prints up roughly 1,000 tattoos.

Visitors of OnMilwaukee's Night Market booth can select from a gallery of Milwaukee-themed LocaMojis created by OnMilwaukee art director Jason McDowell. The chosen image is sent to the Prinker device. Then, with one smooth stroke, the tattoo is painlessly printed onto the person's skin with cosmetic ink.

The tattoo lasts about 24 hours and can be easily removed with soap and water.

"Simpler designs work better, but it's been fun to mess around with different creations and test the levels of complexity that are possible with the Prinker," says  McDowell. "Check it out at the Night Market."

But please, no "Prinker? I don't even know her" jokes.
