Andrew Wagner had the scoop yesterday, but today Historic Turner Restaurant officially announced it was leaving Turner Hall on Sept. 4.

The restaurant, which has been operated by RC Schmidt since 1995, will have its final fish fry on Sept. 3.

In a news release, the company provided no further information. Tina Lukowitz, marketing director for the restaurant, did tell me the reason for closing was that "both sides weren't able to come to a lease agreeement."

This is an iconic bar/restaurant spot, so let's hope that a new user comes in soon.  After all, Marquette and Bucks seasons are right around the corner.
