True North: Cultivating Your Power
Aurora Health Care proudly partners with Summerfest to present a new wellness half-day program called True North: Cultivating Your Power on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Set in the beautiful Urban Park adjacent to the north entrance of the Summerfest grounds, the morning workshop explores yoga, meditation, self defense, healthy eating and local music. True North emphasizes the connection between mind, body and spirit and the ways fueling each leads to confidence, empowerment and a healthy lifestyle. The program is open to beginners curious about exploring mindfulness as well as advanced practitioners eager to join the group. The schedule for True North is as follows: 8:30AM | Registration, networking, coffee, tea and juice sampling from the Juice Kitchen 9:00AM | Yoga led by Meg Vetting Move mindfully through traditional Surya Namaskara A & B sequences, keeping focus on breath and creating awareness around the energy that is moving through the body. 9:35AM | Guided Meditation led by Meg Vetting Practice creating an internal dialogue, understanding the alignment of the physical and esoteric bodies. 9:45AM | Self Defense led by Aurora Health Care Experience a broad range of topics as it relates to empowerment, staying safe and positive self-talk. 10:30AM | Dance Party with DJ Annalog and Health Snack Bar 11:00AM | Program Conclusion Live well and find your True North with us! Brewtown Beat at Summerfest
Our first time at Summerfest! Please join Brewtown Beat on Friday July 7 at Miller Lite Oasis. We play from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, and it's a perfect reason to take the afternoon off work and enjoy The Big Gig. About: Brewtown Beat is Milwaukee's must-see party band. Fueled by a wicked horn lineup and powerful rhythm section, the band performs a collision of vintage Jamaican Reggae, 2-Tone Ska, and popular Modern Rock cover songs in their own upbeat style. With multiple vocalists, diverse songlist, and fun live presentation, the band has been winning over audiences and club owners since their debut in January of 2016. Live Band Brunch!
NEWaukee, Brunch of Professionals and Summerfest team up this year for the Live Band Brunch, a grand finale to the 50th edition of the festival! On the last day of Summerfest, Sunday, July 9th, close out the festival in true NEWaukee-style with brunch in the BMO Harris VIP Section, a backstage Summerfest venue surrounded on two sides by beautiful Lake Michigan. Tickets are $35 and include: Access to the Summerfest Grounds Private access to the BMO VIP backstage area from 12 – 2 p.m. One (1) “build your own burrito” bar brunch One (1) beverage of your choice Access to a private cash bar backstage for any additional beverages Featured entertainment will be provided by local jazz musician and Gibraltar owner, Evan Christian.
