Season's eatings! October may be over, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, is still cooking, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!
MOVIDA
Food is only one part of a restaurant experience. There's the wine or beer list, there's the ambiance and, perhaps quietly most important of all, is the service. That's why we added the category to this year's Best of Dining poll, and coming out on top, racking up votes like tips, was MOVIDA.
Opened just last year in Walker's Point at 524 S. 2nd St., the Spanish restaurant – last year's Best New Restaurant runner-up – has already won raves for its small plates, brunch and truly craft cocktails. Now it earns regards for its service, though coming away as the victor wasn't an easy task. A mere one vote put MOVIDA in front of the silver medalist, fellow Walker's Point restaurant resident c.1880, and the rest of the top finishers in the category – Lake Park Bistro, Sanford and Story Hill BKC – were all within 12 votes of the gold.
Then again, it seems only fitting that a category for service, which depends on noticing the tiny details, would come down to such a tiny margin.
